5 Wrestling Podcasts You Need To Listen To This Week

1. The Steve Austin Show - Unleashed

Stone Cold Steve Austin PodcastWho?: You€™re joking, right? If you don€™t know who Steve Austin is, then you better go freshen up on your professional wrestling history right now. Let€™s just say that the guy is a very big deal. What€™s It All About: Steve Austin, now 142 shows in, knows how to work a podcast show. He takes the Austin character and incorporates it within the show. He€™s not afraid to cut through the BS and tell it like it is. He discusses what€™s going on in his everyday life, interviews special guests ranging from professional wrestlers to announcers to various other entertainers. Once in awhile he€™ll also put on a funny skit when he needs to kill some time. There€™s also a family friendly edition of the podcast where Austin doesn€™t curse. What Topics Are Covered: Renting boats, time on the high seas, discussions with Foley about the early days, physical health care, coming up with the proper move set, taking bumps, dealing with concussions, the violence of hardcore wrestling, and so much more. In fact there€™s so much covered that the show had to be split into two parts. Funniest Moment: When Foley talked about his time as €œThe Commissioner€ of WWE and the various backstage interactions that took place during that time period. Their impersonations of Vince McMahon are hilarious as well. Steve and Foley have great chemistry on the mic, and it€™s good to know that the interview with Foley is going to keep going into next week. A great hook for wrestling fans. Saddest Moment: Nothing really sad about the podcast except for the fact that it eventually comes to an end and that you have to wait for part two of the interview. Waiting is just the worst, isn€™t it? Recommended If You Like: The €œworking man€ persona. Austin is a manly guy, but once in awhile he shows a softer side that makes for a great show. If the cursing is not your thing, the family friendly edition might be right for you. It€™s nice to be able to choose which show is right for you and your family to listen to. Don€™t be fooled by the lack of swearing and adult topics in the family friendly edition; it€™s still just as entertaining as the Unleashed version. Flaw of the Show: The pre-interview segment of the show was pretty weak compared to previous episodes of The Steve Austin Show, but they can€™t all be gems. The interview definitely makes up for it.
