5 Wrestling Ring Rope Wreckages

3. Chris Hero Vs. Pentagon Jr. - AAW Unstoppable 2016

The recently re-re-named Kassius Ohno was infamously released by WWE in 2013 because the company felt he did not commit enough to his physical conditioning. What's odd is that he piled the weight on even more in his three-year absence - and was still rehired.

He could evidently still go. That WWE were compelled to rehire him in spite of it all but confirmed that his work did not suffer - but the perils of his, ahem, unique physique became apparent during his farewell tour of the independent circuit late last year. In a match opposite Pentagon Jr. for the AAW: Professional Wrestling Redefined group, Hero kept up with his slighter opponent's mercurial pace - but that momentum, in conjunction with his massive frame, caused the top rope to break.

It was a scary moment; the former Chris Hero clutched his neck immediately afterwards, evidently in a great deal of pain. Astonishingly, Hero was involved in yet another scary incident at EVOLVE 76 over Royal Rumble weekend.

The show suffered from ring issues all night long, but the quality of his match at least, did not; Hero enterprisingly demanded that the referee refuse to acknowledge count outs, before challenging opponent Keith Lee to duke it out with him on the floor.

Hero evidently has the nous to circumvent issues that lesser men couldn't. In an ultra-regulated WWE environment, in which that ability is not often required, Hero might yet be stigmatised with an altogether more dubious perception.
