5 WWE Hard Man Reputations That Were Completely Exposed

2. Vader

That's not somebody you'd willing get into a fight with, is it? Vader was someone who used his size to get his way during his career and gained a fearsome rep thanks in large part to his destruction of jobbers in squash matches. Then there were the matches with the likes of Mick 'Cactus Jack' Foley in WCW, where Vader was permitted to belt the hardcore icon full-force in the face. Yes, Vader would dish it out but he could take it, too. He infamously finished a match with Stan Hansen while his retina was detached and also battled through serious injury to perform. He was tough as old boots, obviously, but was he actually a tough guy? Could he handle himself in a fight? That question has been answered on a couple of occasions. The first was in Japan in the early 90s, where Masa Saito shot on Vader after the Mastodon told him that 'Vader calls the matches, motherf***er'. Saito supposedly (according to the book Ring of Hell) KO'd Vader and instructed the referee to count him out for this blatant lack of respect. The second is more well-known and involves Vader getting taken down a peg or two by Paul Orndorff. Mr. Wonderful was working as a backstage agent in WCW and was trying to get Vader to come and do a pre-tape interview, to no success. Fed up with waiting, Orndorff called Vader a name, supposedly to do with his weight, and it was on. Vader knocked Ornforff to the ground but Orndorff (whose arm has atrophied due to nerve damage) got right back up and laid Vader out with a haymaker. Then he stomped him out. Not with cowboy boots or anything, mind you, but with flip-flops.
