Rey Mysterio is synonymous with Smackdown, having wrestled on the show for the majority of his WWE career.

From his WWE television debut in July of 2002 until he was drafted to Raw in June 2008, Rey was an ever-present on the blue show. He flourished there, tearing it up in the cruiserweight division and with the so-called 'Smackdown Six' before becoming a main eventer in 2006.

His brief scenery change in 2008 didn't really help him much, although he did win the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career (at WrestleMania XXV), making him a WWE Triple Crown winner in the process. The masked man went back 'home' in April 2009, which would lead to one of his best ever years inside the squared circle.

Rey was one of, if not the, best wrestler in the world throughout 2009. His lengthy feud with Chris Jericho, which saw superlative matches at Judgement Day, Extreme Rules, The Bash and Smackdown itself, was a joy to watch. His matches after that, against the likes of Dolph Ziggler and John Morrison, were also first-rate.

Following a 60-day suspension for violation of the Wellness Policy, Mysterio slotted right back in at the top of the card in feuds with Batista, The Undertaker and CM Punk. Despite needing major knee surgery and continually putting it off and working through the pain, Rey was the most consistent wrestler on any of WWE's shows and produced thrilling matches with stunning regularity.
