5 WWE Smackdown Draft Picks That Ruled (And 5 That Sucked)

5 That Sucked...

5. Triple H (2004)

What a total farce this whole thing was.

Remember what I said earlier about Triple H being considered the most important star in the company, gifted a World Title and generally treated as being above everyone apart from those he chose to put over? Well the 2004 WWE Draft pretty much confirmed those sentiments.

The Game was drafted during the lottery style drawing, causing him to do a spit-take and for a panicked Eric Bischoff to complain personally to Vince McMahon that it wasn't fair. He needed Trips on Raw, you see. The show would die without his presence! The Bisch was so against losing his biggest asset that he struck a deal with SmackDown general manager Kurt Angle get him back on his show.

Bischoff traded Raw's Booker T and both Dudley Boys in order to reacquire the services of the King of Kings. Not only did it show how little WWE valued the talents of the three veterans, but also how much they valued Smackdown compared to Raw. Bad business all around that did nothing but massage HHH's ego and make the blue brand look second-rate.
