The Smackdown locker room was a volatile place in the mid-2000s. As previously stated, the likes of 'Taker, JBL and Benoit et al. did whatever they could to keep the young guys in line. This often spilled over into merciless ribbing and hazing, with several performers quitting the company (one of The Dicks, Palmer Cannon etc.) when they realised they couldn't/didn't want to take it.

Cannon and, erm, The Dick, may have been soft targets (oo-er) but Ken Kennedy certainly was not. Brought into the company with a huge push and given victories over established stars, Kennedy was viewed as a sure-fire main eventer of the future. Still, that didn't stop Bob 'Hardcore' Holly from kicking him out of the locker room when felt the mic master was being disrespectful.

It went down at a house show in November 2005. Kennedy was being booked to win battle royals (which featured Holly), and was neglecting to thank the guys after the match for putting him over, which is customary wrestling etiquette whether it's a humdrum battle royal or not. According to Holly's autobiography, The Hardcore Truth:

I called him out of it in front of everybody [...] I told him you don't go and do whatever else first, you thank the people who put you over and shake their hands. The next night at another arena in Italy, when Ken came in, I marched right over, grabbed his bag, and threw it in the hallway, saying "Get the f*** out of my locker room - you're not changing in here until I say you can".

Well, somebody must have p***ed in Holly's cornflakes that morning!

A couple of days later, Chris Benoit (who was Kennedy's riding partner at the time) later informed Holly that Ken's father had recently died and that while he respected Holly's decision to throw him out, that he should go and talk to him and try and straighten it out.

Which they did, and Kennedy was allowed to change with the big boys again.
