Not every wrestler on WWE's books can be pushed to the moon. That's just a fact of life, and the nature of the business dictates that some unfortunate souls must suffer so others can prosper. It's an everyday battle for those on the outside looking in who desperately scramble to sell their relevance to an increasingly overworked creative team.
In order for the chosen few to advance, others will have to be sacrificed. Take Braun Strowman as a classic example; for Braun to succeed, he had to be positioned as the giant on WWE programming. That meant diminishing roles for veterans like Big Show and Kane. It had to be that way, because Strowman needed the spotlight.
A quick look at the current WWE rosters on Raw and SmackDown reveals others who will suffer from upcoming pushes.
Tag-teams may well be split (or de-emphasised so one part can shine brightly), some characters now have zero purpose without a gimmick that had, until recently, been getting them over and two female stars will be overlooked for differing reasons.
