50 Best WCW Moments Ever
39. Tag. Team. Wrestling.
Harlem Heat were undoubted history-makers in the tag-team division (10 reigns is nothing to sniff at), but they didn't work the best tag bout in WCW history. That honour would arguably go to the Steiner Brothers vs. Lex Luger and Sting at SuperBrawl 1991. All four guys were beloved babyfaces, so it was a tough ask to put genuine heat on either side. The wonderful thing?
They didn't even try.
Instead, both teams played to the strengths of each duo. Rick and Scott produced their usual power game and showed savvy teamwork as the more seasoned tag. Across the ring, Sting offered something totally different to Luger, but they complemented one another well as partners. It was one hell of a match, and anyone who likes tag-team wrestling should watch it ASAP.
Scotty was at his physical peak here. He moved with nimble grace, but still had explosive suplexes aplenty. Meanwhile, the Stinger and Lex were willing to meet the Steiners halfway and defer to them as the ideal team to lay matches like this out from start to finish. Rick's experience helped there.
