50 Best WWE Matches Of The 90s

34. Mr. Perfect Vs. Ric Flair (Monday Night Raw, 1/18/93)

It took only a few shows into Raw's lifespan to produce a true classic. Flair was on his way out of the WWF, and this 'loser leaves' match was his last-aired WWF match (taped before the 1993 Royal Rumble, but broadcast the day after). Appropriately, the match was against Mr. Perfect, his former consultant that he'd come to feud with just months earlier. It's a rare instance of blood on WWF programming at the time, with Perfect spilling juice before a rowdy crowd at New York's Manhattan Center. When Perfect ultimately prevails with the Perfect-Plex, Bobby Heenan throws down his headset at the announce table and lets out a beeped torrent of obscenities, of which the actual verbiage remains a mystery.

33. Bret Hart Vs. British Bulldog (In Your House: Seasons Beatings)

Speaking of blood, Hart spilled some of his own in this WWF Title match, in order to co-opt some heat for what he felt was a non-existent story. Smith was merely a stop-gap opponent for Hart during his forgone trek to put Shawn Michaels over come WrestleMania, but naturally the brothers-in-law delivered with a show-saving opus. The minimal story in play was that since Smith had beaten Hart three years earlier at Wembley Stadium for the Intercontinental title, he'd beat him again for the World title. Hart did not finish with the Sharpshooter, instead with a nifty magistral cradle that Chris Jericho had taught him days earlier backstage at a special show in honor of Bret's father, Stu.
