50 Funniest Wrestling Moments Of 2023

45. Roderick Strong Sees The Truth

AEW

Roderick Strong's reinvention into a passive-aggressive spurned friend was a joy until he descended into parody. The pair of glasses that randomly and inexplicably appeared on his face - on match graphics! - made the bit. This was Roddy trying to appear intelligent so that Adam - or "ADAM!" - would believe his side of the story.

That was such a tremendous detail.

His feeling sorry for himself was oddly amusing, too. For about three weeks.

44. Shane McMahon Doesn't Have It

This one is cruel. but you laughed. You did, you laughed, and it was at the expense of the son of a billionaire.

At WrestleMania 39, Shane McMahon entered the ring as the Miz's second surprise opponent. The second that Michael Cole raved "Shane's still got it!", Shane no longer had an intact quadriceps muscle. This was the schadenfreude epitome of comedy one could not write.

Don't try this at home.

The hazards - of jumping like a child does in PE with zero issue - are real.

43. That Which Is Toni Storm

AEW

Toni Storm has improved at promos to an unbelievable degree. She was once cringe-worthy, but across 2023, she literally popped your t*ts off with her fading Hollywood starlet descends into psychosis gimmick. When furiously bemoaning that her Women's title challenge at Wembley went "t*ts up!" or crying through the pain and resolving to get her "t*ts out", Storm's sheer commitment to the role was fantastic. For about three weeks.

Few things are funnier than an unexpected and explosive burst of anger, and Storm nailed that aspect of comedy - before becoming women's division Roderick Strong - while actually selling the gravity of losses more than Tony Khan did in 2023.

42. It Could Only Happen To Will Ospreay

Will Ospreay August 23
AEW

Will Ospreay received one of the strongest reactions at AEW All In, and defeated childhood hero Chris Jericho at the event, which was the biggest in pro wrestling history.

Maybe.

The Brent Council revealed that the number of ticketed fans who passed through the turnstiles was 72,265, and while there is a margin for error of 10% in these cases, this freedom of information request did cast some doubt over AEW's publicised number of 81,035.

Ospreay got a tattoo of the AEW number, and he was fackin' fewmin' bruv when he realised that it might not be entirely accurate. His mum hates tattoos, bruv, which further aggravated him.

No word yet on whether he plans to have his "Oi facked Jericho up in front of 81,035 pee-puw bruv (after working a fackin' indie for jokes bruv)" tat inked over.

41. Prince Nana Gets Down

There's no way of articulating why Prince Nana's dancing is as funny as it is, it's just a total popper, so here's an MP4 for your viewing pleasure.
