50 Must-See WrestleMania Matches

40. Demolition Vs. Colossal Connection – WrestleMania 6

There is nothing pretty about this contest. When Barry Darsow is the best wrestler in a tag bout, you’re not going to get a multi-star match.

For those who don’t know or remember, the Colossal Connection was Haku and Andre the Giant. They went into the match as the WWF Tag Team Champions. The duo would lose their titles to Demolition without Andre ever tagging into the match.

But the fireworks would come after the match, with manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan berating Andre for losing, then slapping him in the face. Big mistake. Heenan immediately regretted that decision, but Andre had had it.

Andre paintbrushed the Weasel and took out Haku, officially turning face one last time before his in-ring career ended. The reaction from the crowd, combined with the knowledge that it was one of Andre’s last big WWF moments, overcome the poor quality of the match itself.
