50 Must-See WrestleMania Matches

32. Kurt Angle Vs. Chris Benoit Vs. Chris Jericho – WrestleMania 2000 (16)

CM Punk The Undertaker
WWE

You could easily substitute Angle versus Benoit from the following year and get your fill of technical wrestling, but this match gets the nod because of the unique storyline.

Kurt Angle was the Euro-continental Champion at this point, holding both the European and Intercontinental titles. Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho both were gunning for Angle, so this unique triple threat match was made, with the first fall being for the IC title and the second fall for the European strap.

The trio delivered a solid match, with Benoit pinning Jericho for the first fall and Jericho besting Benoit in the second fall, leaving Angle without a title despite never being pinned or submitting. It was a clever way of moving two titles onto other wrestlers without hurting Angle. Plus, it’s three of the best wrestlers of their era in the ring at the same time, which makes it enjoyable to watch.
