If there's one thing a rapidly diminishing WCW audience didn't want in June 2000, it was Bill Goldberg turning heel. That wouldn't have made sense anyway, which is probably why Vince Russo decided to book it heading into the Great American Bash pay-per-view. They'll never see it coming, bro.

Goldberg going rogue was a swerve for the sake of it, and not a good one.

Bill returned from injury, speared Kevin Nash and then linked up with New Blood bosses Russo and Eric Bischoff. Fans booed - not because they were fooled, but because cheering Goldberg was one of the few joys everyone had left when watching WCW's output.

Way to shoot yourselves in the foot, guys.
