WCW forced fans to sit through a thoroughly woeful WrestleMania VI rematch between Hulk Hogan and (The Not-So Ultimate) Warrior before Halloween Havoc 1998's main event pitting DDP vs. Goldberg. As it that wasn't enough of an insult, the pay-per-view ran over allotted time and cut out before the main's finish.

Whoops! Nobody had told the cable companies they needed a few more minutes.

The company had to issue refunds to angry fans and air the headliner on Nitro 24 hours later for free. That wasn't a satisfying solution for anybody. People who had purchased the show wondered why those who hadn't got the main event on free TV anyway, and those who didn't buy in laughed at WCW for being inept.
