Fake blood falling from the skies was a cool visual when the WWF's Brood began giving sorry saps a blood bath on the other channel in 1998. It was used more sparingly than you might remember, but fit the context of the vampire gimmick nicely. Then, there was WCW and its agonising plasma miscues.

The New Blood's "blood" missed Kevin Nash on an episode of Thunder in late-2000, then again when he was rag-dolling Vince Russo in the aisle on Nitro. Worse, some of this "poisonous" and "debilitating" substance got on Russo with no effect. It even hit some of the fans in the front row and they laughed.

Christ, imagine forking out cold hard cash for aisle seats then getting splashed with corn syrup. Could WCW do anything right?
