50 Worst WWE & TNA Moments Of 2014

38. The Death Of The Shield

While all three former members of The Shield are doing pretty well for themselves these days, there€™s just something missing on WWE TV without them together. The thing is, those guys were cool. WWE is largely not cool. Therein lies the problem. The group was something that hardcore and casual fans could agree on, unlike most of the company€™s babyfaces. Rollins is rocking it as the company€™s top full-time heel, Ambrose is finding his footing as a crazy act, and Reigns is currently being shoved down our throats as John Cena€™s possible successor. Overall it€™s okay, but it€™s not quite good enough to battle the lameness of nearly everything else in the company. To top it off, the end of The Shield didn€™t even make sense. One night Seth Rollins was risking his life diving from high places to attack Evolution. The next night he was one of them. WWE went with the whole €œI don€™t owe you an explanation€ card, which is code for €œWe haven€™t thought of a good explanation.€ Without The Shield, what is there to believe in now?

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
