Its no secret that Total Nonstop Action hasnt been very good at creating their own stars. Now Samuel Shaw doesnt seem to possess the talent to be a top act, but initially he was an intriguing character that could have been a solid mid-carder. That is until TNA straight up went TNA on him. Shaw started as a Patrick Bateman, American Psycho, type character that had a crush on Christy Hemme. So far, so good. She was initially interested, until she saw his creepy obsession with her after watching the previous weeks Impact (apparently wrestlers sometimes have that ability). Mr. Anderson got too close to her for Shaws liking, and so a feud began. Going against the first rule of trying to create a star, Sam was beaten at every turn. To damage him further, we found out he lives at home with his mother (despite his dates with Hemme earlier appearing to be at his apartment), and he was eventually committed to an insane asylum by losing a wrestling match. It may have been record time for TNA taking a potentially good character and running it into the ground.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
