As much as Vince McMahon may talk about talent needing to show some fire and reach for the brass ring, I remained convinced that some gimmicks are so lousy that even Steve Austin or The Rock could not have overcome them. Case in point would be The Funkasauras. How can anyone expect anyone to care about you when instead of being pushed as a monster heel youre a dancing joke? Well in late 2013, Brodus finally got rid of his awful gimmick, and was quickly repackaged. WWE didnt seem to like this character either, and before giving it much of a chance, just jobbed him out and released him. A few months later TNA picked him up, which seemed like a good fit for both parties. So far its been disappointing. He debut was lackluster. Without any hype, he just walked out there with Ethan Carter. In his first match, he beat Shark Boy, then was pinned by The Hardy Boyz in his second match. That seems to defeat the purpose of signing a monster heel. Lets hope that 2015 is better for Brodus/Tyrus, as the past few years have already been pretty brutal to him.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
