50 Worst WWE & TNA Moments Of 2014

21. Impact Is ECW!

The summer of 2014 was not good for TNA. The company wanted to put on a series of shows to impress Spike TV officials so that they would re-sign them for a few more years of TV. To accomplish this goal, they aired a couple months worth of TV from New York. To get people to buy tickets, they ended up promoting a handful of ECW talent to bring in local fans. Tommy Dreamer, The Dudley Boys and Rhino all got big spots during this past summer. Simply, TNA should not have had to rely on former ECW talent to get people excited for their first New York City shows. In a perfect world, it would have been guys like Samoa Joe and A.J. Styles battling in the main-event of a sold out arena. But due to the company€™s failure to create their own stars they were left with the past. No offense to those former guys, but fans deserve something new. WWE gave ECW multiple send-offs. TNA did as well a couple years ago. We didn€™t need another one. 1996 was a long time ago. It€™s well past the point to move on.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
