On the go home edition of SmackDown before Survivor Series, Triple H had a message for us: The current product just isnt as good as it used to be. You see, the Attitude Era was where it was at according to him. Back then, they had real stars then like Steve Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley, and himself. Everything we have now just isnt as good. Did Hunter forget that he will someday inherit this company along with his wife? Why would he devalue his own product? And most importantly, why are we still watching his product if it was better 15 years ago? Can you imagine during The Attitude Era if Vince McMahon talked about how great the Rock n Wrestling Era was, or how no one could possibly live up to Bruno Sammartino and Pedro Morales? It would have been insanely stupid, which is exactly what Hunters promo was. It doesnt matter that hes a heel, someone should have stopped him from saying something so detrimental to the entire company. Sadly, no one in charge seems to know any better anymore.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
