If WWE had to end The Undertakers winning streak, ideally they would have set up Brock Lesnar with a long line of babyface challengers, one after the other. Of course, he dominates them all, until someone in WWE is able to stand up to him and defeat him. And ideally, that would be the moment a new star is created. That way this new person gets the benefit of beating the person who ended The Streak. Now this may still happen, but at this point it seems clear if Taker was still undefeated WrestleMania would mean so much more. After Lesnar defeated Taker he got to demolish Cena in his next feud. So far. So good. Then in the rematch Cena would have beat him had Rollins not interfered. That took away a bit of Brocks aura once more. On top of that, Reigns didnt become the breakout star that WWE was hoping for yet, so a win over Lesnar would be sure to meet some backlash. When Takers streak ended, many fans were understandably shocked and upset. WWE has yet to create a compelling reason for ending something that so many fans genuinely loved.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
