6 Arguments For And Against TNA's Six-Sided Ring

For

3. It Will Bring Back Old Fans

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8Au8aaPLHs This is a logical argument and is undoubtedly one that TNA management made to themselves. Upon its original debut, the six-sided ring immediately set the company apart from the established WWE and from any other upstart federation. This visual alternative was most likely a factor in initially hooking fans -- the ring debuted way back in 2004, when Impact first aired on Fox Sports Net. It would therefore be a reasonable assumption that any fans lost during the Hogan/Bischoff regime -- who were the main catalysts behind the switch to a traditional four-sided ring -- may now come back to the product or at least give it another look. While all of the above is purely speculation, the logic behind it is sound. The question is be whether TNA can hold onto that returning interest, or if those intrigued fans will again abandon ship. It seems that the promotion has succeeded, generally speaking, in garnering more interest in their television show and product. However, it€™s surely not to the extent that they were hoping. However, ratings have increased in the past month and a half -- with the exception of last week€™s great decrease due to the barely promoted change of night. Twice since the return of the six-sided ring, TNA has broken the record for their highest rated show in the year 2014. The previously highest rated edition of Impact came in February. Since then, Impact broke that number on both July 24th and August 7th -- with the August 7th program now standing as the most viewers this year. Definitely a good sign that had TNA management patting themselves on the back. Now, in the midst of trying to find Impact a new cable television home, the company is surely hoping for further increases in viewer numbers and ratings. This week€™s show will help provide further insight into the issue as the company attempts to rebound from last week€™s paltry number -- which is most likely due to the move from Thursday to Wednesday.
