6 Arguments For And Against TNA's Six-Sided Ring

2. It€™s Unique

One of the main things the six-sided ring has going for it is plainly its uniqueness. To put it simply, it stands out. That was the appeal of the ring from the beginning and obviously a factor in its initial use. TNA was looking for something different for their television debut back in 2004 and they found in the hexagonal ring -- possibly borrowing the idea from Mexico€™s AAA promotion. TNA Impact wasn€™t on Fox Sports Net for long before transitioning to Spike TV, retaining the unconventional ring. That initial uniqueness greatly helped TNA in acquiring new fans. These fans quickly became TNA diehards, most of whom have remained loyal to the alternative brand since. Ultimately, however, the ring was done away with in 2010 much to the dismay of longtime TNA fans. It could be argued, however, that the six-sided ring may have put off some viewers. It€™s atypical design was definitely something different, but maybe too much so for some wrestling fans. However, the ring did its intended job -- making TNA feel truly alternative -- and that is why it€™s back. The six-sided ring offers a completely individual perspective to TNA and its show Impact -- one that is all their own.
