6 Best Second Generation Fighters In MMA Right Now

2. AJ McKee (16-0)

One of the biggest prospects in all of MMA, AJ McKee has proven to be an unstoppable force at 145lbs since his debut in 2015. Over the course of 16 fights in the Bellator cage, McKee is unbeaten with 11 wins via stoppage. AJ is also currently set to face former Bellator champ, Darrion Caldwell, in the biggest test of his career for a spot in the final of the Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix.

Despite AJ's extraordinary success, the McKee family are probably used to the sight of championship gold in the household following the MMA exploits of AJ's father Antonio McKee at 170lbs during the mid-2000s. Antonio was undefeated in 15 consecutive fights between 2003 and 2010, repeatedly defending the welterweight title of Canadian promotion MFC. Antonio would eventually get his shot in the UFC, but his wrestling-centric style didn't exactly endear him to fans or UFC President Dana White, leading to his release after just one fight.

However, Antonio would come out of retirement in 2019 to fulfil a long-standing ambition of the pair to compete on the same card, at Bellator 228. The event would see both McKees emerge victorious with Antonio picking up a second-round TKO stoppage over William Sriyapai and AJ knocking out contender Georgi Karakhanyan in just eight seconds.
