Putting a promo on pay-per-view at all is pretty bold, but starting the show - and not just any show, but WrestleMania - with one is almost unheard of. Get it wrong and the fans could turn on the event before you've even whetted their appetite.

Fortunately for all concerned, on 6 April 2014, the trio tasked with getting the New Orleans crowd on their feet just so happened to be the three biggest stars in WWE history - namely, Hulk Hogan (pre-recording), The Rock, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, together in the ring for the first time.

There was nothing spectacular about the promo - verbal exchanges, as we found out last year with John Cena and Roman Reigns, tend to be better when they're not so cordial - but the mere sight of these stars sharing the same stage was almost worth the price of admission all by itself.

It was so good that there's probably no need to dwell on the fact that Hogan somehow managed to botch one of the handful of lines he was given by referring to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as the "Silverdome". That said, here's a link - just in case your memory needs jogging.
