6 Biggest Winners From NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn

3. Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe has felt very underutilized in his short tenure at NXT. Things started looking up for him the weeks leading into this Brooklyn event as he and a now-jerky Baron Corbin decided they didn't like each other.

This bout was submission-heavy in the beginning, to the favor of Joe. There was a good striking exchange later on that the crowd popped at every strike for. The finish occurred after a one armed slam from Baron that Joe was able to follow up with a Coquina Clutch. Corbin lost the match by passing out in the move.

The pass out finish works for me. Joe gets a win on a big stage like this, which he's been needing for the sake of getting his NXT ball rolling. Corbin doesn't fare too bad, either. He didn't actually tap, so he's still a tough dude. This also leaves the door open for a rematch.
