6 Booking Steps To The Undertaker vs Sting At WrestleMania 32
5. Undertaker Returns Over The Summer To Retire
After a few months to contemplate what his victory over Bray Wyatt means, The Undertaker makes a heavily-hyped appearance on Monday Night Raw to formally announce his retirement. He comes out with his druids, Paul Bearer's urn, and a casket at ringside, as smoke and darkness fill the arena. He puts over Bray Wyatt, proclaiming him 'The True New Face Of Fear', and he possibly addresses his loss against Lesnar, citing the fact that he's out of step in the WWE and that it's best to move on. He can maybe say that he sees the likes of Triple H and his own brother taking corporate, mortal positions in the WWE, and that he wants to simply bow out gracefully with his head held high. Chants of 'Thank You Taker' echo around the arena, and emotion genuinely fills The Deadman's face. As he kneels down and salutes the urn for one last time, a crow caws in the distance, and Sting steps through the darkness and simply stands in front of the urn, staring The Undertaker down. Nothing needs to be said here, as it's again important to not book this match too ahead of time. You can have Raw end on that note, or even just have the dim lighting completely black out for a moment, and both men are completely gone when the arena returns to being fully lit. It's the kind of segment that will do so much with so little, and will no doubt have the audience chomping at the bit to see more.
