6 Booking Steps To The Undertaker vs Sting At WrestleMania 32
6. Take Both Men Off Of TV For A While
As great as year-long, slow-burning feuds can be, it's not really feasible for WWE to build a pay-per-view a year in advance when there are another 11 events to cater for in the meantime, especially in the Network era. It's not a case of enticing people to shell out for whichever events they want over the course of a year, but more a case of keeping the folks paying their 9.99s right now. With that in mind, it's probably best to keep both The Undertaker and Sting off of TV for at least a short while. There's nothing to be gained from having them on TV. Both men are at the point where they don't want to risk any slight injuries as it could put them on the shelf for a long time, and looking down the roster list, neither man needs to fight any current WWE superstars to validate their existences. Sure Sting vs Bray Wyatt would've been good, and Undertaker vs Luke Harper might look cool, but bigger money fights against John Cena or The Rock are about five years past their sell-by date, and at this point, it's important that both men are used only when necessary, as their careers start to wind down.
