6 Devastating WWE Defeats John Cena Suffered At SummerSlam
2. CM Punk Defeats Cena And Big Show To Stay WWE Champion In 2012
This time around Punk and Cena were in the WWE Title match again, but they weren't alone. It should have been just Cena vs. Punk because any time they wrestled it was great. However, they did that match so often that they added Big Show to it. With Punk in the heel role it seems like WWE didn't want Cena losing clean so as soon as Big Show was added to it we all figured it was Show that would take the loss. That's what happened. The match was a disappointment because it seems like the goal in the first ten minutes was to make it look like Show was a threat to win. Nobody believed he would, but they sure tried to convince us. Show dominated the majority of it. After about 10 minutes, Cena & Punk actually worked together to slow down the big man. Punk put Show in the Koji Clutch, Cena put Show in the STF at the same time and Show tapped out. The match was restarted because they couldn't decide who the winner was. The finish was the same boring ending they do all the time. Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment on Show, Punk tossed Cena out of the ring and then Punk covered Show to retain. It's an ending that they did so many times over the years as a way to make a heel look crafty while the babyface Cena in this case was protected by not being a part of the pinfall. Show getting pinned was not a surprise at all.
