1. Daniel Bryan Beats Cena Clean To Become WWE Champion
This one was another babyface vs. babyface match. Cena got to pick who his SummerSlam opponent was and Cena, along with the crowd, picked Daniel Bryan. Since Bryan was winning over the fans it was a no brainer. We also learned going into the match that Cena had a major arm injury that required surgery and he would be out for the rest of the year at least. Knowing he needed surgery gave away the finish, but it didn't hurt the match at all. It was one of Cena's best matches of his career. That's no surprise since Bryan is one of the best in-ring performers ever (yes it's fair to say that) and he has great matches all the time. Give Cena a lot of credit for working a 27 match with an arm injury that needed surgery. That's not easy to do. His toughness should never be in doubt. There wasn't anything crazy about the finish of the match. It was a clean win for Daniel Bryan thanks to a running knee to the face. When he covered Cena to win the WWE Title it was a surreal moment. We all knew what was likely going to happen, but it was still awesome to see Cena put over Bryan like that. Hopefully they have more matches in the future. It's a match that was similar to the Punk match in 2011 too. Both of them are great matches that also had Triple H as the referee and ended with a WWE Title change after Cena lost his match. This time it was Hunter that hit Bryan with a Pedigree and Orton cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase to become the new WWE Champion. That's the last one. It should be noted that four of the six Cena losses weren't clean finishes. Only the Batista and Bryan matches were clean. What happens this year? Can't wait to find out.
