6 Directions The WWE Divas Revolution Can Go From Here

All hope is not yet lost.

Let's face it: the 'Divas Revolution' has been, to this point, something of a misfire.

After a promising start following the arrivals of Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch to give the division a desperately needed refresh, the movement has since fallen prone to the exact same booking issues that caused such widespread fan apathy towards the women of WWE in the first place.

Rather than be built up as strong, individual characters and given decent singles matches and feuds to put over their immense workrates (something that NXT has been untouchable in nurturing over the past two years), they've been thrown into tenuous factions and put in what feels like endless four and six-Diva tag matches that has them trading wins and losses so often that no one has been able to get any real momentum going.

All, however, is far from lost. After Charlotte's emotional title win at Night Of Champions, Paige's firebomb of a promo the night after on Raw and the well-timed return of Natalya, the division is suddenly at a crossroads that could – and should – see it get to the level that its talent warrants. The future, it would seem, is suddenly looking very bright again.

Here are some ideas for where the women of WWE can go from here, and how the Divas Revolution (should we really even still be calling it that?) can get some steam back heading into what is being billed as the biggest WrestleMania of all-time in Dallas.

6. Keep The Title On Charlotte Through WrestleMania

Undoubtedly the best pure athlete the division has to offer, Charlotte has a chance to bring some real competitive legitimacy back to the title. This is far from a knock on Nikki Bella, who I think is actually pretty underrated on the mic (as a heel at least) and can, with the right opponent, work a great match.

That said, Nikki encompasses everything the WWE loves about the 'Diva' tag (again, not a cuss, it just is what it is) and, relatively speaking, rarely got the chance to actually defend the title that she held for so long (it still blows my mind that the Divas belt wasn't on the line at a 'Mania where you had people as good as Paige and AJ in the mix).

Let Charlotte compete, give her good feuds to go through in the interim (the division is now littered with great heels – more on that later) and let her walk into Mania as the most legitimate and convincing champion the division has to offer. Have her work a proper, 15 minute-plus match with a Paige or a Sasha Banks and drop the title to someone who can then go on a convincing run of their own. Which brings me to my next point...
