6 Directions The WWE Divas Revolution Can Go From Here
4. Make Paige The Alpha Heel
If there's one thing Paige's potentially game-changing pipe bomb showed on Monday night, it's that A) she can work an amazing promo given the chance and B) she really is at her best as a heel. Alright, that's two things, but it was a sick promo and I'm overexcited, alright?
The reason those five minutes made such an impact wasn't just because she dropped some hard truths on the WWE Universe - and, it should be said, reflected many feelings felt by fans in terms of how the Diva Revolution has been handled - but because she was given the chance to show some real, genuine personality beyond locking pinkies with her stablemates and talking about how great it is to have a Diva Revolution and Go Team PCB and ARRRGHHHHBLAHBLAHBLAH.
She's dynamite on the mic and, like all the best heels, actually has some logic to back up her tirades. If you really think about it, she has every right to be aggrieved at seeing her PCBuddy frog-leap her into the title picture after being on the scene for so much longer, and if that beef is handled in the right way, it could fuel a number of feuds for the next six months and beyond.
Install Paige as the dominant heel in the division. Many people would point to that role best suiting Sasha Banks, and that will come, but WWE still has some work to do in terms of getting Sasha fully over with the WWE Universe, especially if, as it would seem, she's to remain with Team B.A.D. for the forseeable (more on that in a tick).
Sasha's time will come, but for now, Paige has a legitimate reason to be A) p***ed off and B) gunning for that title, and with her segments with Natalya on Raw and Smackdown pointing towards a mini-feud for the two, the scene is balanced perfectly for the next few months.
Let Paige fully establish herself via some good, hard-hitting matches with Natalya (perhaps a surprise turn for Nattie leading to an alliance could be a smart move soon after?) while Charlotte and Nikki have their blow-off match, and then have Paige come back for Charlotte in what, if it's booked right, could be one of the best feuds of the year.
