6 More Bizarre WWE Coincidences

2. Kofi Kingston's WrestleMania Progression

An unfortunate amount of coincidental disaster struck throughout this list, so let's all focus on something to help brighten the mood. And honestly, has any star shone as well as Kofi Kingston lately?

Our current WWE Champion hasn't always been so blessed. In fact, throughout the majority of his career he wasn't exactly taken seriously as a top-level competitor. One gauntlet match might've sparked an entire career renaissance, but those 11 years before definitely had their low points.

WrestleMania 29 in MetLife Stadium is one such example, when Kofi didn't even make the card and instead filled the 'active wrestler on the pre-show panel for some reason' role. Well, six years later WrestleMania rolled into MetLife once again, and Kofi went from the lowest possible position to winning the WWE Championship.

The truest irony here comes from Kofi's opponent, Daniel Bryan. Kofi's underdog rise to the top was probably the single-most fan-invested moment to happen since Bryan's moment under the same sun. Remember that whole 'Yes! Movement' and how the electric crowd reactions pulled him from the mid-card all the way to winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania? Reminding you of any New Day members?
