6 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (Nov 17)

4. The Craziest Title Change In Recent Memory

Not AJ Styles relieving Jinder Mahal of the WWE Heavyweight Title. Not Charlotte dethroning Natalya on SmackDown. Not The Bar conveniently setting up The Shield Vs. The New Day.

No, Kevin Owens relinquished his G.O.A.T. Twitter game to Randy Orton, of all people. It was a phenomenal run. Owens castrated Alex Riley with so much force that the man, about the only guy to emerge from the original NXT with his dignity intact, has been looking for his balls ever since. The man roasted fans for daring to challenge his throne, their fashion sense, and their complete inability to accomplish nothing else in life but tragic, misspelled trolling.

Randy Orton's opening jab in their latest Twitter battle was a witless and unoriginal (but enough to prompt an involuntary guffaw) fat joke. Owens responded with an only-OK "You vape" shot before Orton Owened Owens by burying him for getting sent home from last weeks' European tour. This was both funny, in itself, and perhaps something of an omen for KO in the short-term. The influential Orton essentially stole Owens' finisher here. There was no coming back from it, and Owens acknowledged his defeat.

If only Orton was allowed to show this much personality on SmackDown. Any would be a start.
