That goodwill between the Commish and his GM couldn't last forever...

Brace yourselves, because a turn is surely incoming. No, it's not Randy Orton, who looks poised to blast poor Daniel Bryan with an RKO in the picture above. No, it's not Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn, both of whom were fighting desperately for their jobs at Clash Of Champions. Yes, it's either SmackDown's General Manager or the show's rather egotistical Commissioner.

WWE just love that uneasy alliance angle, don't they? We've seen it since the Draft over on Raw (where Stephanie McMahon has repeatedly cut the balls from both Mick Foley and Kurt Angle), and the trend of familiar storytelling looks set to continue on SmackDown. The question is: just who do creative turn heel before 'Mania season heats up?

There are others heading in new directions before New Orleans too. Dolph Ziggler finally has something to shout about, SmackDown's writers may have an unlikely new babyface tag-team on their hands and one AJ Styles is in dire need of a fresh challenge to sink his teeth into.

Over to you, 2018...
