There's a reason WWE brought Asuka up from NXT to the Raw roster in time for TLC. Having recovered from injury, the Japanese star looked every bit the world-class talent she is when defeating Emma during her first main event pay-per-view. Now, she'll be gunning for Alexa Bliss and the Raw Women's Title.

That's the only story that makes sense right now. Mickie James was a fine placeholder for Bliss, but the champion needs something extra to prove herself as one of WWE's best female workers. Asuka can bring the kind of matches out of Alexa that others possibly couldn't, and she should be excited about that despite the fact she'll be replaced as champ.

It's only a matter of time before Asuka wins the Raw Women's Title, Alexa Bliss or not. Emma was a well-worked intro to those fans who don't watch NXT every week and won't know what all the fuss about the 'Empress Of Tomorrow' is, but that's all it was.

Asuka will target the gold imminently.
