6 NXT TakeOver: Chicago Reactions Match By Match

This was another fantastic show for the yellow brand. Four great title matches and an important grudge match made this a standout night of wrestling.

Match of the night goes to Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne, which was just fantastic in all areas and made me very excited for the future of the UK division. Bate, Wolfgang, Trent Seven, and Mark Andrews are all worthy challengers for the new champion Dunne, so this should be fun to follow.

The work was great across every single match, and the booking was clear, logical, and well built. I'm looking forward to finding out Roode's next challenger, what's next for AOP, the future for Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, and who will be Asuka's next victim.

Have pity for the SmackDown roster having to follow this show. The difference in the way the two brands presented themselves is incredible: just look at the contrast between the NXT and SmackDown Tag Team Championship matches. One was a brutal, amazing blowoff match to a long story. The other featured Tyler Breeze in drag.

They did themselves no favours with their booking, but they never had a chance to top this. Long live NXT.
