6 NXT TakeOver: WarGames Predictions
5. Lars Sullivan's Monster Run Continues
It's hard to assess how good Lars Sullivan is at the moment. NXT's new monster is great in his current role, but his longest singles match thus far lasted just 3:10 (September 20th, vs. No Way Jose). He's effective in squash matches, and he carries himself like a potential star, but his output is far too thin for anybody to credibly determine how he'll fare in longer bouts.
Fortunately, Saturday night should answer this question. He'll go up against one of NXT's most skilled competitors in Kassius Ohno, who'll do everything in his power to make Sullivan look monstrous, even though he's far from a traditional underdog babyface.
Getting Lars over is the priority here. Ohno is genuinely world-class, but it seems like WWE have no interest in pushing him as anything other than a gatekeeper. That's a shame, but he's a good 'big name' for Sullivan to knock off on his road towards the top of the mountain. Expect NXT's new brute to put the veteran down in around 10 minutes, then divert his attention away from lowly squash fodder and onto bigger things.
