6 Predictions For NXT TakeOver: San Antonio

2. Kassius Ohno Makes His Comeback

Kassius Ohno made his presence felt by confrontating NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura at this month’s tapings, but the footage never made it to television. WWE chose to keep the segment dark instead, and while Ohno’s WWE return has been known since the turn of the year, it’s unclear when he’ll actually re-emerge on-air at this point.

The former Chris Hero has had an excellent run since leaving WWE a few years ago. 2016 was particularly strong, and it seemed like barely a week past without him churning out a genuine Match of the Year candidate. On the strength of his resume, Hero is one of the greatest wrestlers that the independent circuit has ever produced, and his WWE return opens up a number of potentially excellent matches and storylines.

Given Ohno’s skill (and the audience’s familiarity with him), it’s highly likely that he’ll be pushed to a position of prominence immediately. If that’s the case, then where better for him to return than in San Antonio? Regardless of who wins the main event, having Ohno show up after the final bell to face-off with the winner would be the perfect spot to reintroduce him as a major player, and set up the next big NXT Title program.
