6 Reasons Bray Wyatt Must Win At WWE Extreme Rules 2017

2. The Other Potential Matches Are Bigger

I do not mean to disrespect Bray Wyatt and the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view, but the House of Horrors match and the very name of the latter have done that already. The July event may well end up being a fantastic show, but the truth is that most events held in that month will always be little more than a bridge to SummerSlam.

The other four men in Sunday's match represent major box office opponents for Lesnar. An eventual showdown between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar is destined for one of WWE's biggest stages, with a WrestleMania main event re-match the safest assumption right now. That match isn't going to happen at Great Balls of Fire.

Seth Rollins is a different proposition in 2017 to when he last faced Lesnar, and Seth's fresh babyface role makes for an interesting dynamic against The Beast Incarnate. A one-on-one match between Lesnar and Samoa Joe is a dream match for many, and that bout would benefit from Joe being built up consistently over the coming months.

Finn Bálor vs. Brock Lesnar is another dream match, and one that also deserves the biggest stage possible. A Bálor match does provide an interesting storyline possibility however - Lesnar defeats Bálor at Great Balls of Fire, which eventually leads to Finn getting a re-match at WrestleMania 34 and being forced to bring the Demon with him.

All four of those matches are true main events, but they feel like they should be main events on bigger shows. Then again, WWE did run the Shield triple threat at Battleground last year, so who even knows anymore.
