WWE: 7 Reasons Owen Hart Should NEVER Go Into Hall Of Fame

1. He Died On Their Watch

Above all else Owen Hart should never go into the WWE Hall of Fame because WWE was directly responsible for his death. All of these years later and fans continue to minimize WWE's role in facilitating an unsafe stunt that led to Owen's tragic fall. Honoring Owen and entering him into their own Hall of Fame would just be a sad attempt to somehow redeem themselves from having such a direct role into his horrific fall. It's easy to forget the circumstances behind Owen's fall. It's easy to sweep it under the rug as just an "accident". An accident it was, of course, but one that should never be forgotten. Certainly not an accident that can be made up for by a hollow induction into a paper Hall of Fame. In case you have forgotten, Owen was attached to his cable with a quick release nautical clip that was ill-suited for the stunt at hand. With no backup safeties, only a small tug would release Owen from his harness, something Vince McMahon had demanded after not liking the delay of the safe and proper method usually used in the past. If someone asked you to hang 8-stories in the air with that set up...would you do it? With a mask and a cape on? Somehow, and we will never know how, the release got pulled that fateful night in the Kemper Arena. Did the release cord get attached to his cape? Stuck to his sweaty arm? Should that have been the only thing keeping Owen from crashing to the ring? Of course not. But it was. And Owen tragically died. Sometimes accidents just happen but this accident was as completely avoidable as it was deadly. The manner in which Owen died should absolutely bar him from being inducted. With only the WWE to benefit from the attention (and making Martha look like a sell out) his death should automatically and forever keep him out of their Hall of Fame, despite what fans (and even his brother) think.
