6 Reasons Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match Must Happen This Year
1. Why Not?
The simplest reason for the match is arguably the only one that truly needs making - why not? What real reason is there against doing a women's Money in the Bank match? If WWE is serious about changing the perception of women's wrestling, this is just another barrier that needs to be broken down on the way to that goal.
Some naysayers may say that performers such as Carmella, Lana, and Tamina Snuka aren't experienced enough to compete in a ladder match, but this same fear does not extend to male performers. Akam and Rezar competed in an excellent ladder match last weekend at TakeOver: Chicago, despite making their televised in-ring debuts almost two years after Carmella. Tamina has been wrestling on WWE TV for seven years.
WWE simply has no reason not to book a women's ladder match in this day and age. Some will also say that the physicality of the match isn't right for the women, but once again this is doing the professionally trained performers a complete disservice. WWE isn't CZW, and the match would be carefully planned out to ensure that everything went smoothly. This isn't four kids and their parents' ladder in the yard - these people do this for an actual living.
The time is right for an all-female Money in the Bank ladder match, and WWE may well not get a better time to book the match. This needs to happen, and it needs to happen on 18 June in St Louis, Missouri.
