SmackDown Live's women's division is in a somewhat precarious position right now. Ever since the superstar shake-up the division has revolved around one story, with all the active members lumped in. This is exactly what WWE used to with its female competitors, and the presentation is getting lazy once again.

The Money in the Bank ladder match may well be the definition of 'lump everyone into one match', but the intrigue and possibilities that can come out of the match are enough to breathe new life into a stagnating division. It is difficult to see how carrying the briefcase would be a negative for any of the performers, from Naomi all the way down to potential NXT arrivals such as Peyton Royce.

The same goes for whoever the SmackDown Women's Champion is. Whether it is Naomi, Natalya, Charlotte Flair, or whoever else, each individual is a great candidate for briefcase-centric stories. Charlotte Flair's relative dominance could be threatened by the briefcase, whilst Becky Lynch may well count down the days until her latest betrayal if she manages to reclaim the blue title.

The ladder match would set up the SmackDown Live women's division for the rest of the year.
