6 Reasons WWE Network Lost Record Subscribers This Summer

4. Absence Of Proven Draws On The Full-Time Roster

It's hard to accurately ascertain who is a guaranteed draw in WWE today. The rules have changed in that regard thanks to the Network. No longer can we simply analyse the roster to see who draws buyrates on top and who doesn't. Times have moved on, but there's still something to be said for star power.

Established names like The Undertaker and Triple H have been missed this summer. You can add Brock Lesnar to that list; even though Brock continues to be Universal Champion, he rarely appears on Raw and is treated as being above many others on the regular crew. That's a problem, and it's choking the ability of others to be taken seriously by fans.

Those casual fans who took the plunge and checked out 'Mania? They're gone, partly because the complete absence of names they recognise like Undertaker and Triple H on subsequent pay-per-views has killed their interest. To a lapsed fan from the '90s, a match like Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman from Payback just won't cut it.
