6 Things That Must Happen At NXT TakeOver: Chicago

3. The Never Ending Reign Continues

Asuka's NXT Women's Championship reign has made it to that point where predicting who is going to defeat her is far more interesting than the reign itself. The 'Empress of Tomorrow' has been champion for over 400 days now, and her dominance has been total.

Asuka will face not one but two challengers at NXT TakeOver: Chicago in the shape of Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot. This represents an improvement in odds for Asuka, as Ember Moon was originally supposed to be in the match as well. Injury got the best of Moon however, meaning a triple threat is on the menu for Asuka.

As much as I'd love to see Cross or Riot pick up the win, it seems unlikely that the longest undefeated streak in company history would come to an end in a multi-person match. Sure, NXT could move the title from Asuka here without her taking the fall, but that seems far too short-sighted, even for WWE.

Asuka must win on Saturday. She must lose the title soon, and it must happen in a one-on-one situation.
