6 Things That Must Happen At NXT TakeOver: San Antonio
2. A Singles Match In A 4-Way
Asuka has decimated all of her challengers to date, all of whom now find themselves on the main roster. What gives?
The Japanese star has been so dominant that, in San Antonio, she is faced with three challengers, two of whom are BFFs. There is next to no chance of Billie Kay or Peyton Royce coming out of this match with the NXT Women's Championship.
The prevailing opinion online is that Ember Moon will eventually get the nod to dethrone The Empress of Tomorrow, but sleep on Nikki Cross at your peril. In many ways Cross is the perfect challenger to Asuka's dominance. Asuka has proven far too violent for all that have crossed her path so far, but what if the challenger is too insane to acknowledge that violence? Nikki Cross may well turn out to be Asuka's kryptonite.
Cross should pick up the win here, and the stipulation allows Asuka to drop the title without taking the fall. All of which could lead to a singles bout between Cross and Asuka over WrestleMania weekend, or even the insertion of Ember Moon to create a far more intriguing multi-woman match than the one we have here.
Either way, this is about Asuka and Cross. Apologies to Royce and Kay, but that is the truth.
