A lot of fans may well be up in arms at the fact that a year of building Braun Strowman was seemingly wasted on giving Roman Reigns some odds to overcome, but as the smoke clears it will become apparent that Reigns winning was the right move. If the rumours are to be believed and The Big Dog is on route to facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33 it was the only possible option.

Some speculated that 'Taker could well cost Reigns the match here, but on a night of confusing babyface moves it may have been one too many. Strowman is almost certainly going on to dominate the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33, and whilst his short-term future may be hurt by the loss the Monster Among Men has shown enough to guarantee his upper tier status for a good while yet.

Reigns won in the right fashion too. It wasn't a case of him overcoming everything and powering up to flatten the big man. Reigns managed to survive and hit the right move at the right time, nothing more. It was his experience (played up by Cole and the commentary team) that allowed him to win, not some Superman-esque power.

It might also be pertinent to mention just how much the crowd disliked Roman, but there's only so long a dead horse can be flogged before it becomes pointless.
