To say that the revamped cruiserweight division hasn't exactly set the world alight since returning in 2016 qualifies as a huge understatement, but last night Neville and Jack Gallagher put on the championship match that the division had been crying out for since its return. The two started slow and built and built to a point where it seemed as though The Extraordinary Gentleman actually had a shot at pulling out the surprise victory.

It wasn't to be but it took all the tools in the champ's arsenal to put Gallagher away. This match was great. Gallagher got all of his wacky tricks out of the way early and the two settled into a match that felt like a battle as opposed to a carefully choreographed sequence of events. Neville vs. Gallagher was the match of the night by a long way.

Neville retaining was the right way to go but Gallagher came out of this match looking like a star, something that the division sorely needs. With each headbutt Gallagher shed a little more of his comedic skin and whilst some of the bumps he took were a little on the dangerous side they nonetheless added to what was a great match.

The best match of the night and the best match of the revamped division to date.
