6 Times Dolph Ziggler Got Screwed By WWE Creative
5. His One-Hour Title Reign
It's typical of Dolph Ziggler's luck that the one time Theodore Long booked a match that wasn't a tag team bout, it involved him putting the World Heavyweight Championship he had just (ahem) won on the line against Edge.
This happened on an episode of SmackDown in February 2011, when Ziggler was awarded the title by acting GM (and love interest) Vickie Guerrero, who stripped Edge of the belt after he used the spear, a move she had banned for reasons that still aren't clear.
Just as they were celebrating the OVW grad's maiden world title win, however, Teddy - the actual SmackDown GM - danced his way out to the arena to announce that he would be forced to defend it almost immediately against the Rated-R Superstar.
Having angered the wrestling gods, Dolph lost the belt straight back, bringing an abrupt end to his first brush with the WWE main event in the process. It would be a further two years before he got his hands on the company's top prize again, and by this point his credibility had taken a big knock.
