In Spanish-language Hoy Newspaper, Rousey was asked if she could overcome then-UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez.

According to her, "In any given moment, under the right circumstance, I think it is possible. You cannot tell me that it is physically impossible. It is possible that in any given moment that I could beat him. I simply believe in my possibilities."

Cain was billed at 6’1”, 240lbs. ‘Rowdy’ was billed at 5’7”, 135lbs. The former two-time heavyweight champion—who bested the likes of Brock Lesnar (billed 6’3”, 265lbs) and Junior dos Santos (billed 6’4, 238lbs), mind you—was near twice the size of the former Women's Bantamweight Champion.

It's good to believe in yourself as a fighter, but this sort of confidence was seen more as blatant arrogance, as she placed so much conviction in her answer, despite how unrealistic the “possibilities” were on paper.
